Rochdale Hornets Ladies v Warrington Wolves Reds match report
The latest match report from Rochdale Hornets Ladies.
After what felt like another eternity, the ladies returned to action against Warrington Wolves Reds at Crosfields.
Spirits were high after lots of quality training and the girls were ready for battle. They had specific instructions due to the weather conditions, but unfortunately, the weather took precedent early and panic set in.
Rochdale invited Warrington onto the ball far too often and didn’t put them under pressure in their own half. Warrington managed to do the basics right and stretch Rochdale from touchline to touchline. With eight minutes to half time, separate incidents saw two players sin binned for Rochdale. That created a lot of space for Warrington to exploit and they went in winning 44-0 at half-time.
The second half started with players down, but as soon as the full compliment resumed, you could see positives in all that was being done. Shape in attack and structure in defence was there, Warrington managed to play to that and find space. A really tough day at the office.
