England v Fiji update
The latest update from the club regarding England v Fiji following the postponement of the Rugby League World Cup 2021.
The club would like to update supporters on the England v Fiji clash at the Crown Oil Arena following today's news that the Rugby League World Cup will be staged in 2022.
The announcement was made earlier today by the World Cup, with CEO Jon Dutton leading the tournament.
The club is now working with the Rugby Football League and World Cup team to assess the viability for England to play another opponent and to look at postponing the warm-up game between England and Fiji at the Crown Oil Arena to 2022, when the Rugby League World Cup will be played.
The clash was originally scheduled for Friday, October 15, to celebrate the club’s 150th anniversary, with the strong connection between the town and Fiji.
Further updates will be provided in due course by the club, and we appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding at this frustrating time.
