Rochdale Hornets Foundation Community Coach accepted into RFL coaching programme
Latest news from the Foundation team.
Rochdale Hornets Foundation Community Coach Kirsty Crehan has been accepted into the Rugby Football League’s new Female Coaching Pathway Programme.
The new programme for rugby league was launched in April, as the RFL and UK Coaching aim to fast-track the development of a new generation of female coaches.
The programme builds on the recent progress in Women’s and Girls’ Rugby League, and follows the launch of the game’s Tackle It action plan which stresses the importance of player and coach recruitment and development, talent inclusion and progression within the women’s game.
Crehan said: “I’m honoured and made up to be part of the leadership and performance pathway to further enhance my coaching for the benefit of the foundation and local community.”
Crehan is also currently the coach of Rochdale Hornets Ladies, who kicked-off their season earlier in May against Warrington Wolves Reds, and are making continuing improvements on and off the field in 2021.
“The team are building week on week and after a tough start to 2021, we are ready and raring to go in the cup on Sunday June 6,” Crehan said.
“Each week gives us something new to work on and finesse and we are very confident about the rest of season in front of us."
