Rochdale Schools 9s Rounds Out Year In Style
Schools from all over Rochdale came together for a great day of rugby league
The school year is almost done, which for us here at the Hornets Foundation, meant that it was time for our Rugby League 9s tournament to get serious. We had one of our biggest and most competitive tournaments ever, with pupils from across the borough of Rochdale coming together to face off to become Rochdale 9s champions. The standard of play was superb and a great time was had by all - we can't wait for next year's tournament already!
We would like to put on record our thanks to all the kids that took part, all the teachers that helped to organise the event and all the parents who were there to cheer the players on. In particular, we would like to thank Bob Smithies and our own Eliot Scanlan-Wells for refereeing the games, Rochdale Hornets star Brandon Wood for presenting the medals and to Cardinal Langley RC High for hosting the whole thing.
Our congratulations go to Year 7 winners Cardinal Langley, Year 8 winners Matthew Moss and Year 9 winners Siddal Moor, as well as to the other teams that took part.
