Match Sponsor Spotlight: AAA Pest Control

THE company belonging to Hornets super-fan, Mark Harris will sponsor this Sunday’s League 1 opener.
AAA Pest Control will continue their unwavering support of the club that has spanned a decade, and if that isn’t enough, Mark has pledged to cycle to every single Hornets away game this season to raise cash for the Foundation, and local charity Jolly Josh.
AAA Pest Control service customers across the North and the business continues to go from strength to strength.
“I am coming in to my 10th year as a fan and sponsor of Rochdale Hornets and as the business grows our sponsorship commitments have grown alongside.
“There is a genuine family atmosphere were Sharon and I have felt comfortable in bringing our two girls along and were instantly welcomed into the Hornets family.
"Both our daughters, Beth and Millie have and are playing for the Hornets women’s team, which we are very proud of.”
As well as supporting the club through his business, Mark has also raised funds for the club in other ways, but his latest attempt is the biggest yet.
“I have done a number of fundraisers, but I really wanted to push myself with this one. I have had my own issues with mental health and there are some great causes out there.
“Challenges like this allow me to focus the mind, knowing I will be raising much needed funds and awareness for some lesser known local charities who help local families.”
Raising funds for the Rochdale Hornets Sporting Foundation was immediately on Mark’s mind, but he was flooded with suggestions of Jolly Josh as another worthy benefactor.
“I wanted to do something Hornets oriented and I decided on the Foundation because of the extensive work they do throughout our community and beyond by bringing more people into sport with an emphasis on physical and mental fitness in both children and adults.”
“Then I posted on social media asking people to nominate a local charity. There were so many out there doing fantastic work but sadly, I can’t cover them all but the one name that kept coming up was Jolly Josh.
“I was put in contact with Carole and James who are Joshua’s parents. I arranged a meeting with them and she told me Joshua’s story. Instantly I knew this was the charity I was wanting to help. They were so inspirational. To have lost their son at just 15 months, and to be doing the outstanding work building up the charity whilst Joshua was so poorly is just incredible.
“Sadly, Joshua passed away a month before the charity was launched but in his memory, his legacy will continue and other families will receive the support they need in a new facility which is currently under construction on Queensway in Rochdale.”
