Jamie Dallimore agrees one-year extension

Experienced half-back Jamie Dallimore has agreed a new one-year deal which will keep him at the club until at least the end of the 2027 season.

Dallimore arrived at the Crown Oil Arena ahead of the 2026 season following a title-winning Betfred League 1 campaign with North Wales Crusaders.

He had previously represented Oldham and Barrow Raiders. During his time at the latter, Dallimore was part of two promotion-winning sides and also helped the club to League 1 Cup glory in 2017. 

This season, the 37-year-old has featured 12 times for the Hornets, scoring his only try in a 35-10 victory over Goole Vikings back in Round 8. 

News of Dallimore's contract extension was first announced to supporters during half-time of Sunday's league fixture against Swinton Lions.

“I’m delighted to be given the opportunity to go round again with Rochdale Hornets,” he said. 

“I understand what the club is trying to do and achieve, on and off the field, and I would love to be part of it. 

“I still feel like I have something to give, and the fire still burns inside me to keep going. 

“For now, my full concentration will be on finishing this season as best we can as a group. We have an 1895 Cup semi-final to look forward to, and the league as well. 

“The opportunity to work with Gary Thornton, the staff and this group of blokes was a no-brainer for me, and I look forward to the challenges ahead. 

“Personally, I’d like to thank the Rochdale faithful for welcoming me and my family to the club and treating me like one of their own.”

Rochdale Hornets chairman Andy Mazey said: “Dalli is a key member of our squad, and a great character to have around the place.

“He’s a leader and a fierce competitor, both in training and on the pitch, and has contributed massively to the vastly improved culture this year. 

“It was important to retain his services as we look to finish this season strongly and target further progress in 2027.”
