Izzie Critchley re-signs for Hornets Women for 2026

Rochdale Hornets Women have announced the re-signing of winger Izzie Critchley for the 2026 season.

The 20-year-old winger returns to the club following a successful debut season during our promotion year.

“I’m excited to be signing again for the Hornets this season," she said. 

"Last season was really something to be proud of for all of us, and I’m so glad I get to do this again with an amazing team around me. 

"This season for me is all about improvement, and I want to thank all the coaches and staff for continuing to believe in me. I cannot wait to see what the year ahead brings!”

Women's head coach Ben Bird said: “Last season was Izzie's first league season. She's another player who everyone loves to be around. 

"As the season, progressed Izzie grew as a player and a character in the group. Not having the biggest frame and being such a positive, lovely person, you would be forgiven to assume she'd be a bit timid, but you couldn't be anymore wrong. 

"Izzie has fire in her belly and shown last year she will stand her ground. Super brave and with a big year under her belt, I believe Izzie will play an important part in everything we achieve this year.”
