Hornets duo named in Jamaica squad for Wales clash
Rochdale Hornets duo Jordan Andrade and Jaden Dayes have been named in Jamaica's 20-man squad ahead of next week's international test against Wales.
Andrade has previously represented the Reggae Warriors on six occasions, going back as far as 2016.
He featured in all three of their games at the Rugby League World Cup in 2022, starting their tournament opener against Ireland at Headingley Stadium.
Andrade's inclusion is rewards for an impressive 2024 campaign which saw him score 12 tries in 27 appearances.
He was also named in Rugby League World's Betfred League 1 Team of the Month twice last season.
Joining him in Jamaica's 20-man squad is fellow front-rower Dayes, who could be in line to make his international debut.
The 20-year-old scored twice in eight appearances for the club last season, and was also named as 18th man on six further occasions.
Jamaica face Wales at the Lextan Gnoll, Neath, on Tuesday 15 October.
This comes just days before the squad fly to Toronto for their next international match against Canada on October 19.
Most players called up to the squad play in English competitions, the exception being Alex Young who currently represents NRL side Sydney Roosters.
