The Sportsman confirm play-off coverage
The Sportsman have today confirmed live and exclusive coverage of six crucial fixtures over the next six weekends.
Coverage will come from three different competitions – kicking off with Sunday’s Betfred Championship clash between league leaders Wakefield Trinity and play-off hopefuls York Knights, and building to the Betfred Championship Grand Final which is the last match of the domestic 2024 season.
The Sportsman will also feature two matches from the Betfred League One play-offs, including the final on October 6 – followed by the play-off between the winners of that match and the 12th-placed finishers in the Betfred Championship, which is a sudden-death battle for the last place in the Championship in 2025.
The Sportsman have maintained their commitment to the Betfred Wheelchair Super League by featuring one of the semi-finals on Saturday 28 September – with James Simpson’s Leeds Rhinos in the box seat after clinching the League Leaders’ Shield, and aiming to regain the title they last won in 2021.
All six matches will be shown live and free on the Sportsman’s rugby league YouTube channel – starting this Sunday, as the former Wakefield Trinity coach Mark Applegarth returns to his old club having inspired York’s surge from the lower reaches of the Championship table to the top six since his appointment in June.
