Rochdale is delighted to announce the re-signing of Callum Marriott for the 2022 Betfred League 1 season.
Rochdale is delighted to announce the re-signing of Callum Marriott for the 2022 Betfred League 1 season.
A BARLA international, the forward brings further experience to the Hornets squad.
Hornet’s chairman Andy Mazey spoke about the boost on the eve of a new season this has brought.
“Callum undoubtedly has everything needed to play at a much higher level and he symbolises our philosophy of having a core of Rochdale lads wearing the Rochdale shirt.
“I’m sure our supporters will be delighted with this news,” Mazey said.
Head coach Matt Calland spoke about his importance for the 2022 season.
“Callum is so important to our team I’m delighted he’s put pen to paper for another year. All the lads love playing with him you know what you are going to get week in week out.
“I used to play with his father Karl who is a Hornets legend and sadly passed away at such an early age Calum is doing him proud and doing a great job of following in his footsteps,” Calland said.
Marriott himself is delighted to be back training with the squad.
He said: “I can't wait for the season to start now and hopefully the team and I can stay injury-free and get some continuity through the season.
“I think we could easily push for promotion this year with the experience along with the youth we have this year.”
A big thanks to Reside Estate Agency for sponsoring Marriott for the 2022 season.
