Backroom staff confirmed for 2021

We can confirmed our backroom staff for the 2021 season

Rochdale Hornets is delighted to confirm our backroom staff for 2021.

Assistant Coach, Craig Farrimond, has agreed to a new deal with the club and will once again work alongside Matt Calland for the 2021 season in what is set to be an exciting year for the club.

Physio, Matt Whitehead and Team Manager, Dave Ramsbottom, will also remain with the club for the 2021 campaign.

Dr Ian Sampson will return to Hornets in 2021 to lead the medical department and will continue to support Super League side and partners Toronto Wolfpack as their UK based Doctor. Dr Amit Verma will be the club’s cover Doctor in 2021.

On the extension Farrimond said: “I am really pleased to have signed my extension and continue what we started this season.

“We have great staff and I have a great mentor in Matt and he allows me to coach the way I do.

“With the excitement of the new board and our recruitment, it just makes it even more exciting to get restarted.

“I really believe we are on the up as a club and it’s great to be part of.”

Hornets CEO, Steve Kerr, added: “We’re delighted to keep the backroom staff together ahead of 2021 season. 

“Creating stability within the coaching and support team is vital to achieving our ambitions. Every one of our staff go above and beyond and Matt is developing an excellent set up at Hopwood Hall College. 

“I’m particularly pleased to welcome Dr Ian Sampson (Sammy) back to a Hornets as our lead doctor. He has a fantastic knowledge of Rugby League medical standards and is a great guy to have around the place.”
