Player departure: Max Flanagan

Rochdale Hornets can confirm that outside back Max Flanagan has completed a move to Oldham.

Flanagan has spent the last three seasons with the Hornets, making 51 appearances during that time and scoring 25 tries.

The 25-year-old, who operated primarily at full-back but also in the halves, has made the decision to leave following the conclusion of the 2026 campaign in order to take up an opportunity with his hometown club.

Following Flanagan's departure, the club is excited to confirm it will be announcing the signing of a new outside back for 2027 at 6pm on Tuesday evening.

Max leaves with our best wishes for the future, and we thank him for his efforts in Rochdale colours.
