Details confirmed for Superhero Day 2026

Superhero Day makes its grand return to the Crown Oil Arena this August, as Rochdale Hornets host Whitehaven in the Betfred Championship.

The highly popular event returns for its third edition following the success of the previous two years.

This time, however, the concept will be expanded to include our Rochdale Hornets Women’s side.

Both teams will don the new Superhero kits on Sunday 9 August, with our women hosting Leigh Miners Rangers at The Hive for a 12pm kick-off, before our men take to the stage at the Crown Oil Arena to do battle with Betfred Championship rivals Whitehaven (3pm kick-off).

Prior to the women’s kick-off at The Hive, the club will be hosting a junior rugby league festival, featuring Under 7s, Under 9s and Under 11s teams.

Tickets for the men’s Round 24 fixture are now on sale.

Since its launch in 2024, Superhero Day has gone from strength to strength, with 1,572 supporters joining us for the landmark event last year, up from 850 the year before.

Following the success of last season’s Superhero Day-themed kit, we will once again be releasing a limited-edition shirt to celebrate the event.

Developed in collaboration with kit partners ICON Sports, Superhero jerseys will be available to pre-order at 9am on Friday 12 June.

The pre-sale window will close on Wednesday 1 July.
