Shauna-Leigh Moore re-signs for Hornets Women for 2026

Rochdale Hornets Women have announced the re-signing of forward Shauna-Leigh Moore for the 2026 season.

The 26-year-old forward re-signs for the club after a successful debut season during our promotion year.

“After a successful season last year, I’m proud to be re-signing with Rochdale Hornets. Every time I pull on the shirt, it feels like home," she said.

"Having my daughter cheering me on motivates me every time I step on the field, and I hope to use this season to inspire her and the next generation of young girls to believe they can play rugby league too.

"I’m excited for what’s ahead, and ready to give everything for this badge.

"Thank you to Ben Bird and Rob Rigby for putting up with me for another season - let’s go again!”

Women's head coach Ben Bird said: “Shauna is a great example of everything we value most within the women's environment.

"She has a 'team first' mentality, does exactly what she's asked to do without any hint of ego, and with a fantastic attitude. She is brave, very strong, and always looking to improve.

"Like a lot of the squad, in moments she has doubted herself but last year began to recognise her importance in the group.

"Again, the continuity that Shauna committing this year offers is so important to us. Just like last year, her unassuming resilience and consistency will underpin everything we achieve.”
