Jack Holmes completes Hornets return

Outside back Jack Holmes has completed a move to Rochdale Hornets ahead of the 2026 season.

The 31-year-old returns to a Hornets side he last represented in 2017, having been part of the club's famous promotion play-off final victory at Toulouse Olympique a year earlier.

Holmes joined Salford as a 16-year-old and spent three years in their youth ranks without registering a first team appearance.

His first taste of senior rugby league came at Oldham, prior to joining the Hornets.

Initially arriving at the Crown Oil Arena on loan in 2016, Holmes completed a permanent move to the club ahead of the 2017 campaign.

Following a two-season return to Oldham in 2018 and 2019, he joined North Wales and has been with the club ever since, making more than 70 appearances.

"I’m really excited to be back at the club," Holmes said.

"I’ve got some great memories from my time here and really like the direction the club is heading in now.

"I'm looking forward to a competitive season and seeing what we can achieve together this year."

Rochdale Hornets chairman Andy Mazey said: “We are delighted to welcome Jack back to the club.

“He's a player who needs no introduction, having been a try scorer in the 2016 promotion final in Toulouse.

“He has been a consistent performer for North Wales in recent seasons, demonstrating an ability to carry the ball strongly out of yardage.”
