Assistant coach Pete Eccles leaves club
We can confirm the departure of Rochdale Hornets assistant coach Pete Eccles.
Eccles has served as assistant to head coach Gary Thornton for the last two seasons, and we thank him for his service to the club.
Under the guidance of Thornton, Eccles and the wider coaching team, the Hornets enjoyed a memorable run to the Betfred League 1 play-offs last season.
“I’d just like to say thank you to all connected with Rochdale Hornets for a brilliant last two years,” he said.
“From the staff at the stadium to the fans, players, board of directors, coaches and medical staff, it’s been an experience I’ll never forget.
“It has been an honour to be at such a historic club, and I’ll always look out for Hornets results in the future.”
Confirmation of Thornton’s backroom team heading into the 2025 season will be announced in due course.
