Ben Killan agrees new deal for 2025
Rochdale Hornets prop forward Ben Killan has signed a new one-year deal, keeping him at the Crown Oil Arena until at least the end of the 2025 season.
The 21-year-old has spent all three seasons of his young career playing for the Hornets, making 58 appearances to date for Gary Thornton’s side.
This season, Killan has featured 18 times, seven of which have come from the start.
Having helped the club to a third-placed finish in the Betfred League 1 table, he took his game to the next level with a Man of the Match performance against Hunslet in the opening week of the play-offs.
On the new deal, Killan said: “I’m really pleased to be staying for another year. I think this is a really special group, and I’m just happy to be a part of it.
“Hopefully we can go all the way and achieve promotion. I’d like to say a huge thank you to Andy Mazey and Gary Thornton for giving me the opportunity to go again.”
Rochdale Hornets chairman Andy Mazey said: “We are really pleased that Ben has now put pen to paper on a new deal for 2025.
“He has put in some big performances of late, and we believe he will continue to develop and will only get better and better under the guidance of Gary and our performance team.
“Ben did have interest and offers from elsewhere, but it’s important we retain as many of our bright young talents as we can and we continue this exciting journey together.”
