Squad update: Roberts extends loan stay, duo make Workington move

Dean Roberts’ loan spell at Rochdale Hornets has been extended until the end of the season.

The 27-year-old joined on an initial two-week loan ahead of the club’s trip to Cornwall earlier this month. He featured in both that game and the 48-18 victory at Hunslet last time out. 

A no-nonsense prop forward, Roberts has proven to be a valuable addition to the Hornets pack and we are delighted to retain his services until the end of the 2024 campaign. 

The club can also confirm that Tommy Brierley and Joe Hartley will spend the next two weeks on loan at Workington Town. 

Brierley has already featured twice for the club, scoring on his Workington debut against North Wales Crusaders.

Hartley, meanwhile, has scored nine tries in 10 appearances this season for the Hornets but hasn’t featured since the 24-18 victory at Newcastle Thunder last month.
