AJ Boardman extends Cornwall loan stay

Rochdale Hornets can confirm that AJ Boardman’s loan spell at Cornwall RLFC has been extended by a further two weeks.

The 34-year-old forward, who featured in the Hornets’ 1895 Cup fixture against Halifax Panthers in February, made the move to the Duchy on an initial two-week loan period a fortnight ago.

Since then, Boardman has made two substitute appearances for Mike Abbott’s side, making his debut in the 24-22 victory over Midlands Hurricanes as they picked up their first two points of the season.

As a result of the loan extension, he will be eligible to play in Cornwall’s trip to Hunslet this Sunday, and their home fixture against Newcastle Thunder the following weekend.

Everyone at the club wishes AJ all the best during his time on loan at Cornwall.
