Hornets to launch new kids area ‘Hooper’s Hive’
Rochdale Hornets are set to launch a new kids area to improve the matchday experience at the Crown Oil Arena ahead of the upcoming Betfred League 1 season.
‘Hooper’s Hive’ is a new initiative from the club, with the aim of encouraging more families to attend Hornets fixtures.
The new kids area, which is completely free of charge for anyone attending the game, will launch at the club’s home league opener against Hunslet on Sunday 24 March.
The kids area will be open to any young person under the age of 12. It will open approximately 90 minutes before kick-off on a home matchday.
At Hooper’s Hive, there will be a range of activities on offer, as well as educational pieces depending on which themed game is being played.
Our much-loved mascot Hooper will be making special guest appearances as well!
The launch of Hooper’s Hive is part of a wider club initiative to target young people in the area. Ahead of the 2024 season, young people under 16 years of age are eligible for a free season ticket, covering every game throughout the League 1 season.
Rochdale Hornets general manager Matt Rigby said: “We are really excited about the launch of Hooper’s Hive as we look to engage with more young people across the town.
“We hope to welcome more families to the Crown Oil Arena throughout the season and make our matchday experience one for everyone to enjoy.”
