Carl Forster has captured the signing of prolific winger Paddy Flynn

ROCHDALE Hornets have pulled off a major coup in the signing of former Widnes Vikings and Castleford Tigers star, Paddy Flynn.

Flynn, 30, who stepped away from the full time game in 2017, has since plied his trade at Sheffield Eagles and Thatto Heath Crusaders.

The athletic winger scored 102 tries in 177 appearances for the Vikings before leaving on loan for the Castelford club, where he went on to score a further six in 10 games.

Flynn comes into the fold as a direct replacement for Rob Massam who has announced he is leaving the club for his home town side North Wales Crusaders and head coach Carl Forster is delighted with his latest capture.

“This is a huge signing for our club.” Said Foz.

“I’ve known Paddy a while and I’ve tried signing him every year, but Rochdale massively appealed to him.

“He’s a great player and his quality will help the younger boys around him.

“I can’t wait to see him in a Rochdale shirt.”

Flynn knows the task in hand at Rochdale but is ready to go.

“I can’t wait to meet the lads and get to work with Carl.” Said Flynn.

“There are some real competitors in this team. It’s going to be a tough competition and I’m sure we can hold our own against some of the bigger teams.”

Paddy Flynn is available to sponsor in 2019. To discuss packages contact Steve Kerr at or call 01706 648 004
